Reasons Why You Need Towing

Towing is an important practice of the state to uphold ease of traffic flow. This makes sense that traffic enforcement agencies have the right to remove vehicles that cause obstruction for they are mandated by the law. Unfortunately, there are still licensed drivers who are unaware of towing rules. This is frustrating for it can lead to heated arguments.

To avoid the hassle of approaching the impounding area (should your car get towed), here’s a rundown on what are the chances that your car will get towed plus other things you need to be informed about Freo towing. Important reminder: some of the points though may vary from one place to another.

Why will I be towed? A self-reflection.

Any traffic enforcement agency won’t tow your car for no valid reason. I think we’re clear on that. Be rational to receive some explanations from the traffic officers why they’ll report with such. Two notions I’d like to put on the table are stalled vehicles and parking at prohibited areas.

Stalled Vehicles

Stalled is a collective term to describe vehicles that experience the inconvenience of engine trouble, flat tire/s, fuel tank issues, and whatnot. They should be towed no matter what. If your tires got flat on the freeway, have them changed on an emergency lane. Failure to do this shall definitely lead to towing. Highway patrollers would want to have better traffic for all. It’s quite different though for vehicles with empty tanks. They have to towed immediately to the gas station that is near to your current location. There will be payment for this transport. On top of that, enforcers will issue TVR (Traffic Violation Receipt) as penalty for not minding fuel tank.

Parking at Prohibited Areas

Any open space on streets are enticing to park. However, these places don’t give us the automatic license to do such. The state has labeled some of them as NO PARKING. To begin with, all signs that say NO PARKING do serve their purpose- and that is to ward off all vehicles from letting their car stay in. These signs protect the following: national roads, pedestrian lanes, paths, bridges, driveways, sidewalks, alleys, hydrants, and whatnot. Another vital information to remember when parking is that entrance of establishments that cater to emergencies like clinics, hospitals, and fire stations are to be cleared from any parked vehicle. Its distance should be 4 meters from the entry point. Not following these guidelines guarantees your vehicle a trip to the impound lot.

Towing Process

Contrary to what others usually think, the whole process of towing is a tedious one. It’s not as simply going there and having the car to be clamped and dragged to impounding area. It involves steps that are safeguarded by the laws set forth by the state. This ensures not just fairness but more importantly safety, to the vehicle owners and to traffic enforcers as well.

Say the vehicle is unattended. Tow trucks should honk for a total of 5 times to signal the missing driver. After 1 minute of not responding, tow trucks should perform it again for the last time. If there’s still no response for the 3rd attempt, the vehicle will have to be towed now to an impounding facility.
